Mind Anchor
Porject Brief
In today’s fast-paced world, distractions are everywhere, pulling your attention away from the tasks that matter most. Mind Anchor is a cutting-edge AR tool designed to keep you on track, ensuring you spend less time refocusing and more time achieving your goals.
Background
Modern work environments are plagued by constant interruptions—both digital and physical—that disrupt focus and decrease productivity.
Research from the Yuhuang Lab highlights that task interruptions can significantly increase the time it takes for software engineers to complete their work, and our interviews confirmed this issue is not limited to coding.
Professionals shared that even mundane tasks like adjusting lighting or closing curtains often break their concentration, forcing them to restart their mental flow.
What is Mind Anchor?
By seamlessly integrating with your work environment, Mind Anchor will help you remotely control smart appliances in your home without leaving your seat to keep you in flow.
Design Outcome
Control a lamp
Control a speaker to play music (please turn on volume)
Experiment: Using a virtual ball as general control (please turn on volume)
We use different colors to represent different scenarios, user can swipe the ball to control scenarios.
While the volume of the music adjusts when the user slides the sphere vertically.
When sliding the sphere horizontally, the brightness of the lights will be adjusted.
